Now it is time to start putting all of
this together for the first time. Here is the base with
both supports with buttresses and the tray that the object
slides along in the sling. It is looking bigger and bigger
every time I assemble it. |

After some major effort I finally get the lever arm and
the bucket attached. |
Here is a shot of it from another angle
with my open garage door in the background. |
 |
|
I get the arm pulled down to the cocked and loaded position
to get a feel for how high the bucket will be. The bottom
of it is higher than the top of the garage door! |
And another gratuitous shot from the
side to see the nice 45 degree angle of the lever arm and
the counterweight bucket hoisted high in the air. |
 |
|
Now let's take a look at how tall the lever arm is when
at rest. Holy cow! Look at how high that thing is!!! |
If there were a camera on the end of
the beam it could look in the window of one of my neighbors
on the third floor :-) |
