Okay, mechanically, stuffing a 15 horsepower PMDC motor into a little bot isn't too bad. Getting power to said motor was another challenge all together and proved to be a thorn in my side for quite some time. The weapon motor circuitry was rebuilt seven times before Moebius got into the arena. As a matter of fact, the seventh time was at the hotel in San Francisco the night before inspections and just after having driven over 3,000 miles to get there.

I tried using solid state relays and popped them like popcorn. I tried using mechanical contactors but they proved to be too big, too heavy, and they tended to weld the contacts closed. I wound up using two automotive starter solenoids but wiring everything up was another challenge.
