kit where you create an expandable, evolvable, and exciting
member of your CYBUG robotic ecosystem! Experience robotic
emergent behaviour as your QueenAnt drone explores it's
robotic environment. Build up an entire colony of robotic
ants which interact, explore, and battle with other members
of the CYBUG family of robotic lifeform! The CYBUG QueenAnt
is designed with open architecture and is easily expanded
to be fully solar powered ( with our optional QueenAnt
SolarWings add-on kit $20) or programmable by adding an
optional BASIC STAMP programmable micro-processor (Plugs
right in!).

The CYBUG KIT is designed to behave and appear insect-like,
and has full obstacle avoidance and reversing motors.
The robo-organism is nocturnal ( most active at night
) and can be configured to be photo-tropic ( light seeking
) or photo-phobic ( light avoiding ). A quick adjustment
of the potentiometer causes the CYBUG to behave aggressively
as a predator, or timid and slow moving like a herbivore.
No two CYBUG are exactly the same and you will come to
recognize the unique characteristics of each! The CYBUG's
behavior can be enhances by adding on the Higher Brain
Function daughter-boards: The HUNGER ( HBF-1 ) and PREDATOR
(HBF-2). Instruction manual discusses operation of CYBUG
and all components used at a novice level. ( Kit requires
soldering iron and basic handtools. 3 hours estimated
completion time.)

This SOLAR POWERED CYBUG is easy to build and educational!
Very active in direct sunlight, its sensitive Infra-red
eyes continually cause this CYBUG to move toward the brightest
object it sees and it's feelers help it navigate it's
way around obstacles. It even has short-term memory about
objects it comes in contact with! It's long vertical antennae
can draw energy from other sources such as the SUNFLOWER
POWER PLANT or home-made feeding stations described in
the kit. Requires basic hand tools, soldering iron, and
2 hours to complete.
