As if Hurricane Charley wasn't enough, Hurricane Frances paid us a visit. Many of the trees around my place that survived Charley weren't so lucky with Frances. And, it seems that we may get a personal visit from Hurricane Ivan.

However, I wasn't here for Frances because.....

I was at Dragon*Con!!!!!!! What a blast!!!! My inner geek came out in spades at this festival of comics, writing, art, robotics, and the best costumes on the planet. I could go on gushing about how much fun my wife and I had but how about I just point you over to the Dragon*Con pictures page were I have posted over 400 pictures that we took over the weekend. Be warned that some of the pictures may not be suitable for younger surfers.

We have been honored to be asked to be speakers at this year's Dragon*Con convention in Atlanta. Dragon*Con is one of the biggest Sci-Fi/Fantasy conventions in the world. I have been a con-nut for many years ever since I started going to Comic Con in Dallas when was way heavy into AD&D and BattleTech. I still my original AD&D books (circa 1978) and BattleTech manuals and a bunch of my old lead miniatures for play on a hex map.

Anyway, back to Dragon*Con. Knowing that robotics are the wave of the future Dragon*Con wisely picked up on this emerging form of art and gaming and has introduced a robotics track at the convention (http://www.dragoncon.org/es_tracks.htm#ROBOT)

They also are host to RobotBattles every year which has a variety of robotic competitions.

So, be sure to come out and join in the fun and festivities!
